Remote Manager
allows you to create multiple Cloud Edge customers and import certain Cloud Edge
settings using an Excel file upload.
NoteThis feature is not available in all regions.

You can use the procedure outlined below to perform the following tasks:

Create Cloud Edge customer accounts

Assign Cloud Edge service plans
-
Register Cloud Edge devices
-
Assign Cloud Edge default settings templates
ImportantYou cannot register devices for customers with devices already
registered.

Prerequisites:
-
You must have a pre-existing service plan in Licensing Management Platform for each imported Cloud Edge device model.

You must have at least one pre-existing default settings template for Cloud Edge.For more information, see Configuring default settings templates for Cloud Edge.
Procedure
- Download the Cloud Edge customer file.
- Go to .
- Click Download.
Tip
You can use any name to save the file.
- Edit the Cloud Edge customer file.
Note

Columns with * contain required fields for new customers.
-
Columns with ** contain required fields for both new and existing customers.
-
Do not delete columns or change column names.
- Open the Cloud Edge customers file with a spreadsheet editor such as Microsoft Excel.
- In the Customer Type column, use the
drop-down list to specify if the customer is New
or Existing.
Important
Remote Manager will not process changes to the company profile or contact information of an existing customer. You can use Licensing Management Platform to edit company profile and contact information for existing customers. - Specify the following company profile information:

Company Name: 1-128 characters
-
Country: Use the drop-down list.
-
State/Province: 1-64 characters
-
City: 1-64 characters
-
Address: 1-128 characters
-
Postal Code: 1-10 characters
-
- Specify a unique Account ID: 4-25 characters (alphanumeric, "-", or "_")
- Specify the following contact information:

First Name: 1-50 characters
-
Last Name: 1-50 characters
-
Email address: 1-128 characters
-
Language: Use the drop-down list.

Time Zone: Use the drop-down list.
-
Area Code: 1-5 characters
-
Telephone Number: 1-16 characters
-
Extension: 1-10 characters

- Specify a future date to Send Account Creation Email (date format: YYYY/MM/DD), or leave blank to send immediately upon account creation.
- To assign a service plan, specify the following settings:

Service Plan Name: Use the drop-down list.
-
License Start Date: Use the current or future date. Use the date format YYYY/MM/DD.

Units Per License: This number should be equal or greater than the number of Cloud Edge devices you want to register for this customer using this service plan.

- To register a Cloud Edge device, specify the following settings:
-
Device Name: 1-32 characters, not identical to the company name
-
Serial Number: The serial number is not case-sensitive.

Gateway Group: Type ROOT or ROOT/ followed by the gateway group name. The gateway group name cannot exceed 16 characters. Subgroups are not allowed.
Tip
To register multiple devices for a single customer, create a new row for each device. If the customer is new, specify "New" in only the first row. Specify "Existing" in all subsequent rows.Important
You can register multiple devices for a single Cloud Edge customer only if all the devices are the same model and the total number of devices does not exceed the Units Per License specified in service plan settings. -
- Specify the Default Settings Template: Use the
drop-down list.
Important
For existing customers, this default settings template overrides existing settings. - Specify the following email notification settings:

Report Recipients: 1-128 characters
-
Alert Recipients: 1-128 characters
-
- Specify the Backup File Name.
- Specify a Memo: 0-20 words.

You can view memos in the Cloud Edge console. - Save the Excel file.

- Upload the Cloud Edge customer file.
- Go to .
- Click Select File...
- Locate the edited Excel file on your computer.
- Click Open.
Note
Allow some time for Remote Manager to import Cloud Edge customer and device settings. You can view the status in Administration logs.
