Assign the Global Reader role on the Microsoft Azure portal to TrendAI Vision One™.

Before you begin

Sign in with an account that has the Privileged Role Administrator or Global Administrator role. Global Reader is a privileged role managed by Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM); accounts without one of these roles cannot add assignments.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Azure portal as an administrator.
  2. In the left navigation, click Microsoft Entra ID.
    The Overview screen appears.
  3. In the left navigation, select Manage → Roles and administrators.
  4. Use the search field to locate the Global Reader role, and then click the role name.

  5. Click Add assignments.
    The Add assignments screen appears.
  6. On the Membership tab, review the resource, resource type, selected role, and scope type, and click No member selected under Select member(s).
    The Select a member panel appears.
  7. Use the search field to locate TrendAI Vision One™, click it, and then click Select.
    If multiple TrendAI Vision One™ applications appear in the search results, identify the correct one by its Azure Application (Client) ID. To find this ID, sign in to the TrendAI Vision One™ console (not the Microsoft Azure portal) and go to Workflow and Automation → Third-Party Integrations to open the Microsoft Entra ID screen. In the Status column of the corresponding permission set, click Details to open the Permission status panel, which displays the Azure Application (Client) ID.
    Note that the Details link appears in the Status column only when the permission set requires attention, such as when it shows a Permission error.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Setting tab, select Active for Assignment type, enter the justification, and click Assign.
    Select Active. TrendAI Vision One™ connects as a service principal (application), and Microsoft Entra ID does not support Eligible assignments for applications or service principals because they cannot perform the activation step.
    A message appears in the upper right corner of the screen, indicating that the Global Reader role is successfully assigned to TrendAI Vision One™.
