Assign the Password Administrator role on the Microsoft Azure portal to TrendAI Vision One™.

Before you begin

Ensure that the account with which you sign in meets the following requirements; otherwise you will not be able to add assignments:
  • The account must be assigned the Privileged Role Administrator or Global Administrator role in Microsoft Entra ID. Resource-level roles such as Owner or User Access Administrator are not sufficient for assigning directory roles.
  • If your organization uses Privileged Identity Management (PIM) (Microsoft Entra ID P2), the classic Add assignments button is intentionally disabled. In that case, use Manage in PIM instead (see step 5).
  • After a role is granted to your account, sign out and sign back in to refresh your permissions before continuing.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Azure portal with an account that meets the preceding prerequisites.
  2. In the left navigation, select Microsoft Entra ID.
    The Overview screen appears.
  3. In the left navigation, select Manage → Roles and administrators.
  4. Use the search field to locate the Password Administrator role, and then select the role name.
    The Password Administrator | Assignments screen appears.
  5. Add the assignment:
    1. If Add assignments is enabled, click Add assignments.
      The Add assignments screen appears.
    2. If Add assignments is disabled, your tenant uses PIM. Click Manage in PIM, then click Add assignments on the PIM screen. If Add assignments is disabled and Manage in PIM is also unavailable, your account lacks the Privileged Role Administrator or Global Administrator role.
  6. On the Membership tab, review the resource, resource type, selected role, and scope type, then click No member selected under Select member(s).
    The Select a member panel appears.
  7. Use the search field to locate TrendAI Vision One™, click TrendAI Vision One™, and then click Select.

    If multiple TrendAI Vision One™ applications are listed, locate the applicable Azure Application (Client) ID by going to the Microsoft Entra ID screen (Workflow and Automation → Third-Party Integration → Identity and Access Management) in TrendAI Vision One™ and clicking Details in the Status column of the corresponding permission set.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Setting tab, select Active for Assignment type, enter the justification, and click Assign.
    A message appears in the upper-right corner confirming that the Password Administrator role is successfully assigned to TrendAI Vision One™.
