Learn how to calculate your credit usage for Mobile Security.

The credit requirement for Mobile Security is based on the number of devices enrolled with Mobile Security for protection, as well as the type of device by activity.
TrendAI Vision One™ draws down credits from your balance every month based on your usage.
You can view your current credit usage for Mobile by clicking Manage usage in Mobile Inventory. The credit usage reflects your actual usage in the past days from the start of the current billing cycle up to yesterday. It corresponds to the highest number of enrolled devices, after excluding the top 15% of days with the most enrolled devices in this period. For this reason, the credit usage may change throughout the month.

0.42 credits per device
  • TrendAI Vision One™ counts the number of enrolled devices every day.
  • TrendAI Vision One™ uses snapshot-based calculation to determine your monthly credit usage. That means it excludes the top 15% of days with the most enrolled devices in a month. For the remaining days, it uses the day with the highest enrolled device count for the calculation. Decimals are rounded to the nearest whole number.
Example:
For September (30 days), TrendAI Vision One™ excludes the 4 days with the most enrolled devices. Of the remaining 26 days, the highest number of enrolled devices is 1000 on September 20.
The system calculates your credit usage for Mobile Security in September as follows:
1000 × 0.42 = 420 credits
Only devices with active and long-lived agents require credits. Inactive devices, whether long-lived or not, do not require credits.

Device type
Definition
Active device
TrendAI Vision One™ defines a mobile device as active if the agent reported a status in the last 24 hours of usage measurement.
Active devices are included in the credit usage calculation for that day.
Long-lived device
TrendAI Vision One™ considers a mobile device long-lived if there are more than seven days between the first and latest status reports from the agent.
Even if the agent did not report a status in the last 24 hours of usage measurement, long-lived devices are still included in the credit usage calculation for that day.
Note
Note
The system does not require seven consecutive days of activity and does not count the number of days the agent was active. This approach ensures that short-term outages or temporary inactivity do not immediately exclude devices from usage calculations.
Inactive device
TrendAI Vision One™ defines any device that meets both of the following conditions as inactive:
  • The agent did not report a status in the last 24 hours of usage measurement.
  • The device is not long-lived.
Note
Note
Trend Micro recommends regularly reviewing your Mobile Security credit usage and removing inactive devices manually from Mobile Inventory.
