Procedure
- Sign in to your Okta organization.
- Click Admin to open the Admin
Console.
- Find your Okta URL domain.
- In the upper-right corner of the Okta admin console, click on your user
name.A panel with your user name and Okta domain appears.
- In the upper-right corner of the Okta admin console, click on your user
name.
- Create an API token.

API tokens have the same permissions as the user who creates them. If the user permissions change, the API token permissions also change.
- In the Okta admin console, go to .
- Click Create Token.
- Specify a name for the token and click Create Token.
- Copy the token value.
Important
Once you close the Create token dialog, the authentication token is no longer available to view or copy.
