By default, when you have multiple outbound IP addresses, their assigned mode is Active/Active.
This means that all provisioned static IPs will forward traffic simultaneously.
However, you can configure them so that one address is always active and the others
are on standby, to be used when needed. This prevents the issue of the IP address
changing frequently between the provisioned addresses.
Procedure
- Go to and select Outbound Static IP.
- Click the Settings (
) icon. - Select the mode:
-
Active/Active. All provisioned static IP addresses forward traffic simultaneously. This is the default setting.
-
Active/Standby. One static IP address is automatically designated as active for traffic forwarding, the remaining IP addresses are on standby for failover. You can review the active/standby status of each IP address in the table once this mode is applied.
-
- Click Save. This saves your changes, and a pop-up opens asking you to confirm the change.
- Click Save to confirm and apply the change.
The mode is applied and the table updates to show the active/standby status of each
IP address.
